Cancellation Policy

  • Orders Not Yet Shipped:
    • Cancellations are FREE and accepted within 7 days after the order is placed and the customer receives the order confirmation.
    • Please contact us immediately if you wish to cancel within this period.
    • After this period, cancellations may still be possible, but they will be subject to a 30% restocking fee.
  • Orders Already Shipped:
    • Unfortunately, once an order has been shipped, it cannot be canceled. In this case, please refer to our return, replacement and refund policy for further assistance.

How to Cancel an Order

  • Please provide your order number, name, and reason for cancellation when contacting us. Our team will confirm the status of your order and process your request according to the policy outlined above.

Important Notes

  • If your cancellation request is received outside the allowed time frame or after the order has shipped, you will need to follow our return and replacement procedures.
  • Refunds for canceled orders (minus any applicable fees) will be processed to the original payment method used during purchase. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

Return, Replacement and Refund Policy

Returns and replacements are eligible under the following conditions:

  • Eligibility:
    • Requests for return or replacement must be made within 7 days of receiving the item.
    • Returns are accepted only if the item was received with incorrect measurements, colors, types, categories, or if the item is defective due to transit damage.
  • Transit Damage:
    • Items must be inspected upon arrival. Any damage should be noted on the delivery receipt and acknowledged by the delivery driver.
    • The customer must contact Modern Patio Design as soon as the items have been received for confirmation of damages and claim.
    • Customers must accept delivery to file a claim for transit damage with the freight company. Refusal of delivery will void the claim process.
  • Return and Refund:
    • This policy applies to specific brands, and each brand’s return and refund conditions will be followed.
    • Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in the same condition as received to be eligible for return.
    • Proof of purchase (order number, receipt, etc.) and photos of the damages with driver acknowledgment are required.

Non-Returnable Items

  1. Custom or Personalized Orders
    • Any item that has been customized or personalized according to your specifications (e.g., custom cushion colors, fabrics, or sizes) is non-returnable. These items are made to order and cannot be resold.
  2. Clearance Items
    • Products purchased on clearance and on sale are non-returnable. These items are sold at a significant discount and are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
  3. Assembled Furniture
    • Any furniture that has been fully or partially assembled by the customer is non-returnable. Once assembly has begun, the item cannot be returned.
  4. Opened Bedding and Cushions
    • Bedding, cushions, and other textile products that have been opened or used are non-returnable for hygiene and safety reasons. We recommend verifying the color and size before opening the packaging.
  5. Gift Cards or Free Gifts
    • Gift cards or free gifts included in the purchase from Modern Patio Design are non-returnable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  6. Special Order Items
    • Items that are classified as "Special Order" are non-returnable. These are products that are not typically stocked and are ordered specifically for you.
  7. Items Damaged After Delivery
    • Products that have been damaged after delivery, due to improper handling or assembly by the customer, are non-returnable. Please ensure that you inspect your items carefully upon delivery and follow any assembly instructions provided.

Process for Return and Replacement

  1. Inspection Upon Delivery:
    • Upon delivery, customers must inspect the items and packaging for damages before accepting the shipment.
    • Any damages must be noted and acknowledged by the driver on the delivery ticket/receipt.
    • Customers must take note of non-returnable items and 
  2. Acceptance of Delivery:
    • Customers should not refuse delivery. The item must be in the customer’s possession to file a claim for return and replacement.
  3. Filing a Return and Replacement Claim:
    • Customers must file a return and replacement request by sending an email with the necessary documentation to sales@modernpatiodesign.com or by calling +1 888-648-6651 immediately.
    • Additional documentation or information may be requested to expedite the claim process.
  4. Claim Status Update:
    • Modern Patio Design will update the customer on the status of their claim within 7 days of submission.
  5. Return and Replacement Confirmation:
    • Once the claim is confirmed, a return or replacement will be initiated based on the specific brand’s policies or as needed.
    • The product must be received by the supplier in the address stated within 30 days after a shipping/return label has been issued to the customer.
    • If required, customers may need to cover the return shipping cost. Upon receiving the item, customers must provide the shipping receipt for reimbursement.
    • Reimbursement/Refund will be processed through the original payment method used for the order. It usually takes up to 7 business days depending on the bank for the refund to reflect. 
  6. Issuance of Replacement:
    • After the return is processed, a replacement will be issued, and the customer will be notified of the new shipment details.
    • If the above conditions are not met, Modern Patio Design reserves the right to decline claims and/or return requests.
